The 1775 Invasion of Quebec - Canada Day Special
Canada Day Special 2025
This Canada Day, we're lighting the fireworks and revisiting one of the most awkward house calls in history, the 1775 Invasion of Quebec. Yep, before America was even officially America, they tried to "liberate" Quebec.
We unpack how a ragtag group of revolutionaries, led by guys named Benedict, Montgomery and the Green Mountain Boys, who marched through the snow, begged the French to join the rebellion, and ended up face-planting into a fortress city that wasn’t buying what they were selling.
What happens when provinces get itchy feet? Who gets to decide what "freedom" looks like? And what lessons can we learn from a time when outsiders thought they could just walk in and take a province?
